Mrs. Lillian Wilson Vincent widow of John S. Vincent, of Linkwood died Saturday night following a prolonged illness. Mrs. Vincent had been in infirm health for several months and critically ill for the past week.
She was born and reared at East New Market and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Wilson. At an early age she married Mr. John Scott Vincent, a well known and highly respected of Linkwood where they resided their entire married life. Mr. Vincent was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as Agent, at Linkwood for many years. He died in 1933. For the past three years she had made her home with her sister Mrs. Wesley D. Matthews in this city.
Mrs. Vincent was a member and communicant of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church or East New Market for many years. Her grandparents donated the ground and built the Chapel which is now the Recreation Hall. She was confirmed under Bishop Adams. During her residence in Cambridge she had made many loyal and sincere friendships.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Wesley D. Matthews, of Cambridge and six nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jesse Derr, of Baltimore, Mrs. Emily Leonard of Calif, Mr. Emerson Mathews, and Mr. Merrit Brohawn of Cambridge, Mr. William Collison of Calif and Mr. Elmer Collison, also of Calif.
She is also survived by many several grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, East New Market, Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Alan Whatley officiating interment will be in the East New Market cemetery.
