The East New Market Corporate limits were separated from the rest of the District 2 of Dorchester County for the first time on the 1849 Tax Assessment List. Prior to 1849, East New Market was combined with the rest of New Market District 2. East New Market is also combined with the rest of District 2 from 1868 through 1904. For this list I have also included dwelling number and occupation from the 1850 Census. If "No" is entered in the 1851 column, the person does not appear on the 1851 Assessment List.
