The East New Market Corporate limits were separated from the rest of the District 2 of Dorchester County for the first time on the 1849 Tax Assessment List. Prior to 1849, East New Market was combined with the rest of New Market District 2. For the 1851 list, it appears the tax assessor updated the 1849 list by deleting people who should not have been listed in 1849 and making minor updates to a few estate amounts (in yellow). New people were not added from 1849 to 1851. For this list I have also included dwelling number and occupation from the 1850 Census.
