Presumed from the 1800 Census, that he was a widower with one daughter. Presumed he remarried shortly after the 1800 Census and a second wife was the mother of the other 3 daughters. The Census record for Nancy Whaley shows she was born after 1800. The birthyears for Triphena & Sarah are unknown, but presumed to be after 1800. It is possible both or either were born before 1800 & were elsewhere at the time of the 1800 Census.

Did Isaac Collins Jr. marry twice? What are the names of his wife/wives? When exactly did he die? Is there any official record of his death (Will, Inventory, Distribution)?

STILL WORKING ON THE CHILDREN OF WILLIAM COLLINS - JEREMIAH & ENNALS ARE FINISHED 6/19/05.
1807 Deed - William Collins sells land to Jeremiah Collins
1820 Census Kent County, DE -

Abraham Collins (1700-1769) settled in Caroline County, Maryland and had 2 sons, Abraham and Isaac. These two sons, had a combined 8 sons. I have identified the children of 7 of the 8 sons. The other son is William who in early Census records (1810, 1830) had many young males and females in his household. Appearing in the 1820 and 1830 Census in Caroline County in the area where Isaac Collins left land to his children are Ennals Collins and Jeremiah Collins. To date I have not found a record that lists the children of William Collins. I also have not located a record that shows what happened to the land William Collins inherited from his father. He definitely inherited land, but apparently it was never sold. There are some other less likely scenarios regarding the parentage of Ennals Collins, but most of those scenarios place him as a grandson of Isaac Collins. Maybe a list of children of one of the other 7 grandchildren was incomplete.

More detailed original record research is needed to find an elusive record. There are land records and possibly other records in Kent County, Delaware that mention a William and Jeremiah Collins. At some point I hope the I or someone else can research the land and other records for Kent County from 1800 to 1840 to find all mentions of any William, Jeremiah, or Ennals Collins.

There are men with the last name Grace in the 1790, 1800, 1810, & 1820 Census in Caroline, Dorchester, & Talbot Counties.

The unknown...
Could her full name be Susan Grace Collins? If not she likely married a Mr. Grace before grandfather wrote his 1805 Will. In 1827, the three siblings sell the land their grandfather left them. Susan Grace is not mentioned. Could she have died by then?

A Whaley family that moved from Delaware to Georgia interacts with a Grace family. But no evidence that Susan Grace or Isaac & Nancy Whaley are in Georgia.

In the 1820 Census Joshua Dyer appears to be a widower over 45 years old. After a thorough search of the 1830 and 1840 Census in Delaware and elsewhere, I can not find him. Joshua Dyer may have died by 1830. With Triphena being an uncommon name I searched for her first name in Delaware and found only one possibility if she was alive and remained in Delaware. She may have remarried to Thomas Lister who died before 1840 and had one son, Thomas Lister. The Census records are as follows:
1840 Census Kent County DE - Triphena Lister age 30-40, with 1 male under 5, & 1 female 10-15
1850 Census Kent County DE - Trifiner Lister living with son Thomas Lister age 14
1860 Census Kent County DE - Trifener Lister living alone
1865 Triphena Lister leaves a Will in Kent County DE
Of course this theory is not proven and there are many other possibilities. In 1850 a 6 years old Triphena Dyer turns up in Washington state, the daughter of Elisha Dyer. This Elisha was in Tennessee in 1830 and Arkansas in 1840, but I can not find evidence Joshua was with him.

Need to research the land records of Kent County, DE for more answers.

Neil Keddie transcription of Peter Collins will states he had a son, Luke. Parker Todd transcription of the same will states he had a daughter, Lisha. Another possibility is the child is a son, Lisha or Elisha. This needs further investigation including another look at the original record.

If the person is a son, Luke, he does not appear in any further records in or near Caroline County.
If the person is a daughter, Lisha, she does not appear in any further records in or near Caroline County as Lisha Collins. In the 1850 Census no females in the near area were named Lisha or Lisa or anything like that.
If the person is a son, Elisha, there are some remote possibilities, but not many.

This person likely died before establishing a household, went by another name, or if female married.

Isaac is not mentioned in his grandfather's 1813 distribution and may have died by then. A Peter Collins is mentioned, and since Peter Sr. had died, this must be Peter the brother of this Isaac.

Some other possibilities. An 1831 Caroline County record mentions land being sold to an Isaac Collins. An 1850 Census record in Fairfield County, Ohio has an Isaac Collins born in Maryland in 1802. This Isaac had children William, Jehua, Isaac, John, Minerva, and Jesse. If this is the same Isaac, then the Peter mentioned his grandfather's distribution would be his deceased father rather than his brother. There are several other Isaac Collins in Maryland and Ohio in 1840 that could be the Isaac Collins in Fairfield County, Ohio.

1808 - Peter Collins Sr's Will names children Isaac and Lisha and also leaves 1/3 to child if widow should have child within 9 months.
1834 - Sold land that fell to him by the death of his father, formerly the land of his grandfather Isaac Collins.

The unknown...
The 1834 deed state who his grandfather was, but does not list his father's name. Two sons of Isaac Collins are not possible fathers (Isaac died before Peter was born), (Abraham did not have male children). So the only possibilities are William who had male children of the correct age, and Peter, who 1808 left 1/3 to child if widow should have child within 9 months. Since the younger Peter was born the same year as the older Peter died, he is likely the father. Also in Isaac Collins' Sr's 1813 distribution, land is given to William Collins, and Peter Collins. If William was Peter's father, the land would have gone to William and not his children.

Is Ann a daughter of Sarah Fluharty and not a Collins? Could Ann be the same person as Sarah E (b.ca 1842), who was listed in the 1850 Census as a child of Peter, but is missing in 1860 and later? Since the 1850 Census for Peter Collins does not list an Ann Collins, I suspect one of the above is true. I can not find an Ann Collins in 1870 or later.

When looking for the father (of these siblings) who died a long time ago, one can easily match the ages of the siblings to the 1820 and 1830 Census records for Ennals Collins (ca1790-). The unusual name, Ennals Collins would very likely closely relate the younger and older Ennals Collins. Jeremiah was the name of a likely brother (3 Census entries apart). William was the name of Ennals likely father (see below). There is also a later connection between the descendants and the Harding family of Caroline County, such as the 1870 Census entry for William Jackson Collins (son of Henry). The presumed sons, Wiliam and Henry each named a daughter Mahala. This is an unusual name and the name of Ennals' wife, Mahala Harding.

Parker Todd's first theory was the father of the siblings was Jeremiah Collins(bca1796) or Samuel Collins(b1798). I have found all the children and grandchildren of Jeremiah Collins as they migrated to Ohio. He is definitely not their father. Also the early Census and other records for Samuel Collins show that he had fewer children and the ages and names are not similar to this group. He is also not likely their father. Ennals Collins is (bca1790) is almost certainly the father of this group of siblings.

The known...
The bio of son-in-law John Elseroad names Jeremiah and his wife and their children. The Marion County bio states they were born in Maryland. Death Certificate of wife, states she was born in Caroline County, Maryland, Obituary of son, Solomon Collins states he was born in Caroline County, Maryland. Death certificate of daughter Susan names Jeremiah as her father, but states her mother was Susan Towers (assumed to be a confused reporter/ transcriber or Elizabeth was sometimes known as Susan).

The 1830 Census for Jeremiah matches his childrens ages exactly. I presume the person who reported for the 1820 Census mistook his infant son as a female.

The unknown...
Believed to have died between 1844 and 1850. Wife was listed alone in the 1850 Census. Youngest child was born circa 1844.
Can not find him in the 1840 Census. Likely was living with someone.

The known...

The unknown...
Theory that Letitia Collins is the daughter of William Collins. Records do not exist to prove this. However, the children born from 1780 -1810 of all other known Collins males in Caroline County have been accounted for. Based on the 1810 Census, William likely had 3 or 4 daughters. I have not found a record that proves who these daughters are. If Letitia was 18-30 years old when she married in 1821, she would be the correct age to be on of the females in William Collins' 1810 Census record. I could not find John Baker in the 1830 Caroline County Census. There are many possible John Baker's outside of Caroline County in 1830.

A January 1849 record indicates that Thomas and Mary Pattison had died by that date. Need more about record. Record believed to mention a son Thomas Winfield Pattison. Martin L Pattison can be traced to Howard County, Maryland after 1860. The last record for James is on Taylors Island in 1870. His son Raleigh may be named for the Raleigh family that he lived with in 1860. (Or the 1870 record is a coincidence and not him.) William Pattison can not be found after the 1860 Census.

Willliam, his mother, and his youngest sister possibly died before 1860. His older sister Sarah C possibly married. Another possibility is that this William H is the one that was born in Talbot County in 1848 and died in Caroline County in 1922. That William H is listed as the son of William Collins and Eliza Ellen Warner, based on slightly more evidence. However, he could actually be this William H Collins.

The 1900 Census record for his wife says 8 children, 7 are living. 1st Wife remarried to Walter Thomas in 1901 and moved to Dorchester County by 1910. Her 1910 Census records says 7 children, 3 are living. Lee Caddie, and Agnes, are living. The third is likely Katie R. The 7 living recorded in 1900 might be a census mistake.

The unknown...
I have a death date for him, but am not sure where it came from. I could not find him in the 1930 Census. Did he have only 3 children that lived to adulthood? Is there a divorce record for him in Caroline County?
