Kilby B. Fletcher

Kilby B. Fletcher was born in 1823 in Dorchester County, the son of John Hicks Fletcher and Elizabeth Bradley.  On 9 February 1848 he married Margaret Carroll.  She was born 30 October 1824, the daughter of James Carroll and Margaret Medford. 

On 13 October 1855, Kilby B. Fletcher purchased a house and two lots the from the heirs of Levin Marshall.  One lot is the location of the "Marshall-Hubbard House".   On 24 July 1863 sold the house and lots to James Davis.  Kilby B. Fletcher and family only lived in East New Market for 8 years.  After selling the property in East New Market, the family lived on a farm with a mill off of Cabin Creek (north of East New Market).  Kilby's brother Major S. Fletcher later purchased the Marshall-Hubbard House from the heirs of James Davis in 1866.  Major S. Fletcher owned the property until 1888.

Kilby B. and Margaret Fletcher were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church from 1864 until the were removed by certificate in 1875.
